Project Introduction



       Road accidents are highly influenced to the public health in a country. And also increasing road accidents evolve social and economic problems due to loss of lives and damage possessions. Road accidents are really induced by interactions of the vehicles, road users and roadway conditions. Each of these basic components contains a number of sub components which are contributed to increase the risk of the road accidents like road characteristics, geometric features, traffic characteristics, design of vehicles, driver’s behaviour & emotions, road user’s behaviour and environmental features.
Driver behaviour & emotions are supposed to be the leading contributory sub component that influences to the road accidents. Driver behaviour & emotions consist with some main factors such as excessive speed, inattention, fatigue, alcohol/drugs and aggressive/negligent driving.

     The factor of inattention/distraction is one of the main factors for road accident in the world. Driver intention includes concentrating on secondary tasks like using cell phones, SMS, music players and talking while driving. A naturalistic driving study found that 78% of crashes and 65% of near-crashes included inattention as a contributing factor.Further aggressive driving behavior constitutes a huge portion of traffic accident reasons. According to a report of the American Automobile Association Foundation for Traffic Safety, 56% of traffic accidents occur in the word due to aggressive driving behavior. Considering human factors, detection of aggressive driving behavior could help in reducing the number of road accidents by giving necessary warnings to the drivers.

       The proposed solution is a create device for keep driver’s safety by detecting and compering the driver’s attention, aggressiveness and stress with speed of the vehicle and give alerts.
